Lake Louise Winter Fun
Join our winter fun experience to the stunning Lake Louise! You can enjoy ice skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, a magical sleigh ride or dog sledding. The choice is yours. Leave the driving to us and cozy up at the ice bar for mulled wine, hotchocolate, or a refreshing cocktail. Rent your gear in Banff or Lake Louise (on a first-come, first-serve basis) or in advance in Canmore (on a first-come, first-serve basis or online-require 48 hours to confirm). On our way back, there is an optional travel on Bow Valley Parkway and a stop at the famous Johnston Canyon.

What You Will See
Lake Louise is 2.4 kilometres long and freezes solid by mid-December at 1,731 metres below Victoria Glacier. Even under ice it holds traces of the turquoise that draws the summer crowds.
Frozen by mid-December
The Frozen Lake
A Fairmont team hand-cuts blocks of lake ice into a castle each year, standing from late November through late February. It is built from the same lake it sits on, beside the skating rink.

The Ice Castle
The Fairmont grooms a rink on the frozen surface directly in front of Victoria Glacier. Skate rentals are available at the Chateau and in the hamlet of Lake Louise.
Skating mid-Dec to mid-April
The Natural Skating Rink
Ice skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, a sleigh ride, or dog sledding: the choice is yours. Gear rental is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
