The Bow River through Banff is internationally recognized for its wild brown, rainbow, and bull trout. The stretch between Banff townsite and Lake Louise offers consistent dry fly and nymph fishing throughout summer. Lake Minnewanka, 13 kilometres east of Banff, is the largest lake in the park and one of the only lakes open to motorized boating, making it a productive trolling and lake trout fishery.

Getting to the Ice with Canmore Travel
We offer pickups from convenient locations in Canmore, Harvie Heights, or Banff. Your guide knows these lakes and the conditions well. Ask on the drive which lake is fishing best this week, whether ice conditions are safe on your chosen destination, or which guided operator to book through at each location. That local knowledge comes with every shuttle.
Note: We do not organize or guide the fishing. The fish are yours to find.
