Getting to Events in the Rockies
Getting a group to and from an event venue in the mountains requires planning beyond what works in a city. Parking at most major venues is limited. Some venues are on roads with access restrictions. A private transport option handles all of that.
Canmore Travel runs private event transfers throughout the region, covering weddings, corporate events, festivals, concerts, and private celebrations. Up to 14 passengers per vehicle, pickup from locations across Canmore, Harvie Heights, and Banff.
For events with specific pickup or multi-stop requirements, contact us directly. Lenka handles all event bookings personally.

Event Venues Worth Knowing
Understanding the venues helps with planning. Several of the most significant venues in the region are remote by mountain-town standards, which means parking and access are real logistical factors.
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity

Parking: Limited at events
Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel
One of the most recognizable hotel venues in Canada. Hosts weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations in grand ballroom and garden settings. Access to the hotel grounds during large events is restricted.

Access: Mountain road only
Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
A lakeside hotel venue at Lake Louise, one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in the country. The lake road has restricted access in summer; event guests typically need coordinated transport.
Access: Restricted summer road
Canmore Venues
The Canmore Hotel, the Cornerstone Theatre, and various parks and outdoor spaces. Growing event infrastructure with good access from the Trans-Canada Highway.
Parking: Varies by venue
Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
A lakeside lodge venue at Patricia Lake in Jasper, with conference and event facilities. Located outside Jasper townsite on a road with limited winter access.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Canmore Travel handle transport for a wedding?
Yes. Wedding transport is one of the most common event requests we handle. We can coordinate pickup for the wedding party, guests, or both, from accommodation across Canmore, Harvie Heights, and Banff to the venue and back. For multi-vehicle or large group requirements, contact us directly.
How do I find out what events are happening during my visit?
The most reliable current listings are at banfflakelouise.com, tourismcanmore.com, and banffcentre.ca for arts programming. For Jasper events, jaspercanadianrockies.com maintains a current calendar.
Is parking available at most event venues in Banff?
Limited. The Banff Centre and Fairmont Banff Springs both have on-site parking, but it fills during major events. The Chateau Lake Louise has restricted road access in summer. For most large events, arranging shared transport for your group in advance is the practical approach.
How far in advance should I book event transport?
For summer weddings and major festivals, four to eight weeks in advance is recommended. For smaller events or off-peak dates, a week or two is usually sufficient. Contact us as early as possible for events during the Banff Mountain Film Festival (late October) or peak summer wedding season.
